The Pineywoods Foundation is an East Texas foundation committed to improving and enhancing the communities of a selected number of counties in the Pineywoods area.

ABOUT THE PINEYWOODS FOUNDATION

Founded by Southland Paper Mills, Inc., with a large gift following the dissolution of the company in 1978, the foundation is managed by a four-member board of trustees made up of regional business and community leaders.

Through the efforts of its founding directors, the Pineywoods Foundation was organized to serve most of the counties served by the Southland Paper Mills Foundation, including Angelina, Cherokee, Houston, Jasper, Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity and Tyler counties.

Headquartered in Lufkin, the foundation serves a variety of community and regional causes through financial grants awarded two times each year.
